After a tough first round showing yesterday our Lady Royals took back to the hardwood for the first game of day two action at the National Championships. The Royals faced off against Carolina University who suffered their loss to the #1 SCU.

The Royals once again started strong by hitting a three pointer on the opening possession. This would only be the start of a much better shooting day for the Royals. The Royals would push to a 10-4 lead before a CU time-out. Both teams would settle in and a true battle would commence that saw a 37-33 EC lead at halftime fueled by 11 points from Madison Bailey on 3/4 from deep.

The Royals must have gotten a better night sleep before this game because after shooting 26% from the floor and 50% from the FT line in round one, they poured in 43% FG, 47% 3P, and 84% from the line. They did this while holding CU to 31% FG and 0% from deep.

The second half saw EC get comfortable and really turn up the offense. They would expand their lead in both quarters behind some hot scoring by Alysia Pickett and Grace Crawford. The Royals also found an emotional spark off the bench from Harmony Van Campen. The Royals would cruise to an 85-67 final.

Royal Performances:

Alysia Pickett - 32 points, 5 assists, 14/14 FT

Grace Crawford - 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals

Madison Bailey - 13 points, 6 rebounds

Harmony Van Campen - 11 points, 7/8 FT
