Ecclesia College Women's basketall knocked off Crowley's Ridge College (NAIA) to push their record to 3-1. This is the best start for the Lady Royals since they made their last regional tournament appearance in 2016-17 campaign.

The Lady Royals came out of the gates slow in this matchup from everywhere but from the freethrow line where they converted on 8-9 freethrow attempts. This would be enough to keep the game close as CRC would end the first 10 minutes of play up 21-17. The second quarter saw a drop off in freethrow production from EC, but it was made up for by some hot shooting from deep going 4-10 on the quarter as a team. Sophomore Gabby Adams lead this scoring run with her long range shooting. The scoring stretch was enough to win the quarter by four points leading to a tied game at 35 points headed into halftime.

The second half started out and was a battle of the defenses as only 24 combined points were scored between both teams in the second quarter. The Royals struggled to score this quarter, only finding the bottom of the net on three field goal attempts and 5-10 on freethrows, while CRC shot an adjusted 50% from the floor. This lead to a 48-46 lead for the Pioneers entering the fourth.

When speaking about the difference between the third and fourth quarter Coach Tonya Ingram told us, "Our ladies really focused and dug in when we needed them to." She continued, "It also helped to make freethrows when we needed them." The Royals surged ahead thanks to a 30 point 4th quarter to seal the deal 76-70. This was largely due to going 12-14 from the charity stripe and another 40% (2-5) quarter from deep. Some keys plays made by freshman Jada Wilson (pictured) and freshman Alysia Picket offensively helped seal the game. Along with great freethrow shooting late by junior Grace Crawford and freshman Callie Whitfield.

Overall the Lady Royals controlled much of the game by winning the rebound battle 54-44 with help from Grace Crawford's 12 rebounds and three other Royals adding 6 a peice. The Royals made more 3pt field goals then CRC, and due to their agressive play made as many freethrows as CRC attempted. However, Ecclesia found their biggest advantage by adding 29 points from the bench.
